Wryst unveils the Automatic 2824 Luxury Swiss Sport Watch in Black and Rose Gold.
Swiss luxury sports watch brand Wryst has released its first mechanical timepiece: The Wryst Automatic 2824 Limited Edition Luxury Swiss Sport Watch, of which Wryst will ever produce only 50 pieces. You can purchase this watch exclusively in one place; the official Wryst website www.wryst-timepieces.com. Containing the legendary, self-winding Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement is the first reference of a higher-end range from the manufacturer.
Brand owner and designer Jacques Fournier says, โWe have been asked to produce an automatic watch from the very early days of Wryst. The 2824 project had to be special, distinctive, and exclusive. We wanted to combine Swiss tradition, know-how, and craftsmanship for a sincere, ambitious self-winding watch. Some of our customers have been able to purchase one in exclusivity since April this year. Our determination to offer special and atypical timekeepers is now delivering to a strong and growing customer network eager to know about on-going Wryst projects.โ
The dial is an agile combination of black and rose-gold colors with a black date, but the real visual tour de force happens when you turn the watch over, revealing its back.
The case back is built with a challenging one-piece sculpted crystal that reveals the mechanical movement in four different windows, its design shaped like the asymmetrical Wryst logo. Through this unusual shaped design, the rose-gold rotor rotates and winds the 25-jewel, 28,800 vph ETA 2824-2 movement, which is for horologists the most reliable automatic caliber ever made.
More info about this workhorse watch movement:
“The ETA 2892 is widely considered the more upscale of the basic ETA movements and is a newer design dating to the 1970s, whereas 2824 traces its roots back to the 1950s. 2892 is fitted with top-quality components. Many horologists regard the 2892.A2 as a better ‘quality’ range (accuracy and reliability) than the in-house produced Rolex movements.[8] Insofar as accuracy is concerned, any movement expected to be COSC-certified, or is, in fact, COSC-certified, must meet the same standards. The ETA 2892 is usually found in the more expensive and prestigious watches and brands. Owing to its relatively slim height of 3.60 mm, 2892 is a favorite of watch brands that market complicated movements, such as Breitling with its trademark chronograph (stopwatches). Given the slim dimensions of 2892, it provides a good platform on which to add or build a chronograph watch complication.” Source Wikipedia.
This watch case, case back, attachment screws, and square buckle are protected with the groundbreaking Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) treatment, which makes the case as hard as diamond and is known to considerably increase the lifetime of the watch (on average from 7 days for a standard black PDV watch to 80 years with this DLC coating!). Dial details, screw-down crown, and decor rings are in Rose Gold. On the right side of the case, it is engraved WRYST.
